Our Editorial Mission
Indicops exists to deliver transparent, independent, and accurate journalism on Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, and emerging technology — with a distinctly Indian perspective and a global eye. We believe an informed public is essential to healthy democracy and responsible technology adoption.
1. Independence
Our editorial decisions are made entirely by our editors and journalists, independent of advertisers, investors, sponsors, or any external commercial interests. No advertiser receives editorial coverage in exchange for advertising spend. Our newsroom operates with a strict firewall between commercial and editorial operations.
2. Accuracy and Fact-Checking
Every article published on Indicops goes through an editorial review process:
- All factual claims are verified against primary sources — official documents, peer-reviewed research, verified data, or direct statements from named sources
- Statistics and data are attributed to their original source
- We contact all relevant parties for comment before publishing allegations or critical coverage
- Headlines accurately reflect the content of the article — we do not use clickbait headlines
3. Corrections Policy
We take errors seriously. When a factual error is identified:
- Corrections are made promptly and transparently, with a note at the top or bottom of the article indicating what was corrected and when
- Significant corrections are disclosed with a clear correction notice
- We do not silently delete or alter published articles without disclosure
To report an error: edit@indicops.in
4. Source Protection
Indicops is committed to protecting the identity of confidential sources. We follow industry-standard practices for secure communication with whistleblowers and anonymous sources (including the AI Signal submission system). Source identity is never disclosed without explicit consent.
5. Conflicts of Interest
Journalists and contributors must disclose any personal, financial, or professional relationships that could create a conflict of interest with their coverage. Editors assign stories to avoid conflicts. Staff are not permitted to accept gifts, paid travel, or benefits from companies they cover.
6. Opinion vs. News
Opinion pieces, analysis, and commentary are clearly labelled and distinguished from news reporting. Opinion articles represent the views of the author, not the official position of Indicops.
7. Sponsored Content
Sponsored or branded content is always clearly labelled as “Sponsored”, “Partner Content”, or “Advertisement”. Sponsored content is produced separately from our editorial team and does not influence our news coverage.
8. AI-Assisted Journalism
Indicops may use AI tools to assist with research, transcription, or data analysis. However, all published articles are written, edited, and fact-checked by human journalists. Any significant use of AI in the reporting process is disclosed within the article.
9. Diversity and Inclusion
We are committed to representing diverse voices in our coverage — across gender, geography, language, and background — reflecting the full breadth of India’s technology community and global AI ecosystem.
